OceanClub was officially launched on August 28 during the Huawei Innovative Data Infrastructure Forum 2024 in Latin America. As an up-and-coming online community focused on data storage technology, OceanClub is positioned as a hub for innovation between tech enthusiasts. Michael Qiu, President of Global Data Storage Marketing & Solution Sales Dept. of Huawei, unveiled the new platform in the company of Huawei's Latin American customers and partners.

Michael Qiu described the role of OceanClub in today's age of AI and data monetization, explaining how as a global nonprofit platform will empower data practitioners through collaboration and knowledge sharing.
The platform brings together users from all walks of life, be it scholars, engineers, and tech enthusiasts through online discussions, through peer communication, industry insight, joint innovation, and others. Upskilling is also a core community idea, where members can attain the skills to support their career growth through seminars, training, enterprise visits, and practical courses.
OceanClub uses a points-based system, where members are rewarded for sharing knowledge, publishing articles, participating in discussions, and presenting speeches. These points can be redeemed for gifts or priority access to events. High-scoring members will be picked as VIPs, and receive exclusive opportunities like exchange programs in China.
In 2024 alone, the platform aims to host 300 peer exchanges from 30 countries in regions like Latin America, Europe, Asia Pacific, and the Middle East, to promote the adoption of storage technologies and unlock the full potential of data.
